When I take Budapest, though, you really shouldn't look down your nose at me. Could be something similar in Civ V?īoy, Montezuma. I do remember hearing about a bug in Starcraft II that taxed the GPU.
I bought a new psu with the new video card and now try to blow out all the dust every couple of months instead of every 6 months. Anecdotal evidence for me that the GPU is much more heat sensitive than the CPU. Blowing out the dust seems to be working so far. Was having a similar problem on the laptop with Starcraft II and my daughter with The Sims 3. The card just had 0 tolerance for heat, once cleaned it ran ok. Only to find out that the cooling fan and heatsink on the video card were 10 times the dust magnet than the rest of my case, cpu and psu combined. I had the same type of video caused crashes with Starcraft II and bit the bullet and bought a new video card. At least they would have more opportunity to have a release patch that squashes a few more bugs. I would like to see more developers release public betas or demos prior to release.

They could spend the next 10 years doing nothing but testing on every possible hardware and driver combination and still release a game that crashes for some users. This has risen the questions whether the game was released prematurely From the very first day a number of users experienced crashes of the game, making it unavailable to play.
